THE COMEDY, SEVEN YEARS AS ONE OF THE PILLARS OF THE FESTIVAL CRUÏLLA!
Although music was initially the epicenter of the Festival Cruïlla, the truth is that since our first edition we have been very interested in incorporating other artistic disciplines into our program, including circus and urban art, among many others. In 2019, after noticing that a large part of our audience was becoming interested in it and that stand-up comedy in Catalan was gaining ground, we added comedy!
With a lineup headed by big names in Spanish comedy such as Valeria Ros, Susi Caramelo and Iggy Rubín, as well as local comedians who would soon become household names, such as Modgi, Tomás Fuentes, and Charlie Pee, the first Cruïlla Comedy brought together two days of social criticism, subtle irony, dark humor, absurd jokes, personal anecdotes, and, in short, the best comedy to confirm that it had a bright future at the festival.

However, the following year, the pandemic forced us to rethink the festival and, consequently, our comedy program. During July and August, more than thirty comedians performed in the Jardí del Museu Marítim in Barcelona, reminding us that, no matter what happens, we will always have the sense of humor!
From 2021, with an edition that was closer to the normality we had experienced until then, until 2025, when we celebrated our fifteenth anniversary, comedy has continued to be present at the Festival Cruïlla with two days of stand-up, demonstrating that this discipline has established itself not only as an essential part of our program, but also of our country’s cultural offering.

Outside of the summer festival, in March 2022 we organized the In Risus Fest, and in the fall of 2023, 2024, and 2025, the Cruïlla Comèdia festival, which in its third edition changed its name to Festival Hilària. In these editions, we are committed to the creation and promotion of new comedy formats, mostly in Catalan and completely original.
In addition, since November 2024, we have been managing El Molino de Barcelona, the iconic venue on Paral·lel, where we have offered a weekly stand-up program during its first season with Hilària, our comedy label, through which we organize shows and accompany a roster of comedians in theirs.
