Cruïlla is art

Let’s fill the festival with art

One of the most important parts of Festival Cruïlla is all the art created offstage.

Plastic and performing artists will pursue each other around Parc del Fòrum like lovers. You’ll catch them making love in the way they know best: through dance, theatre, painting, performance…

Below, you will discover the range of artistic styles on show at Cruïlla 2018.

Estrella Damm Stage

For another year, the Estrella Damm stage built by Lluís Danés is one of the main stars.

The stage is a colossal construction which will welcome the festival’s main concerts with an under the sea theme. 12-metre sea-horses with headlights for eyes and an army of jellyfish decorate the façade of the biggest stage that Lluís Danés has ever built. With the equivalent height of a 5-storey building, he called it “La catedral del mar” (the cathedral of the sea).

Performing arts

The legendary company La Fura dels Baus will present their show Dreams at Cruïlla. It’s a great aerial performance with a ludic-therapeutic element that connects people with special needs and their therapists, showcasing an important emotional bond. You can read more about La Fura HERE.

At Cruïlla we will also experience the great party of witches that is traditionally held at the capital of Segarra, the Aquelarre de Cervera. A great party celebrating popular culture with gunpowder, fire-runs and music. You can read more about Aquelarre de Cervera HERE.

What’s more, as you walk around Cruïlla you will find dance, aerial dance and theatre coordinated by White Summer.La Fura dels Baus

Let’s paint the headliners

During the festival, a group of urban artists will paint portraits of the headliners. They will be using different urban techniques, such as graffiti, on big fabric canvases.

As the festival progresses, you’ll see how the portraits of Jack White, David Byrne or Pharrell Williams progress too. Click HERE to meet the artists that will create them.
