Waste management

We are working to become a circular festival!

In order to keep moving towards a circular festival, we have developed a Waste Management Plan that takes into account all phases of the festival: assembly, activity and disassembly:

  • Contracting with environmental criteria.
  • Planning through a previous survey to suppliers on the estimation of waste generated at the festival.
  • Separation at source and optimization of containerization.
  • Provision of a Green Point during assembly and disassembly to centralize and control the proper recycling of all waste.
  • Selective collection with data by fraction.
  • Creation of a guide of good practices and protocols for teams, suppliers, sponsors and gastronomic operators.
  • On-site monitoring and audits of our suppliers’ sustainable actions.

We have also created a Donations Day, which will take place on Wednesday, July 16, the last day of the dismantling. The starting point of this day will be during the planning of the festival and the accreditation of suppliers, who will fill out a form to report the estimated types and amounts of waste they will generate at the festival and which they would like to recover, such as wood, raffia or grass, among others. On the day of the Donations Day these materials will be returned and also given to the neighborhood entities that want and can reuse them!

In addition, one more year we eliminate plastics and single-use products and use returnable and reusable cups and containers.
