Pixies at Festival Cruïlla 2026!
Four decades and a first time
At Festival Cruïlla we love anniversaries, so we can’t imagine a better reason to finally have Pixies on one of our stages than the celebration of their 40 years as a band. This American band, considered one of the most influential in the history of indie music for the way they redefined alternative rock in the 1990s, will be giving one of their only performances in Spain in 2026.

Although this year they have released live recordings of the albums ‘Bossanova’ (1990) and ‘Trompe Le Monde’ (1991), their latest studio album is ‘The Night the Zombies Came’, released in 2024 and produced by Tom Dalgety, who had already worked on their three previous albums. Although not a concept album, according to the band, it continues to feed their soundscape, which has been a mirror, example, and reference point for dozens of artists and bands. Without going any further, Kurt Cobain admitted that “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was meant to sound like a Pixies song, and artists such as Thom Yorke (Radiohead), David Bowie, Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Jack White, Weezer, St. Vincent, and Blur have cited the band as one of their greatest inspirations. However, their legacy remains as alive as their career and spirit, which we will be able to see at its peak for the first time at the Cruïlla Festival next summer.
