This essential band from Naucalpan, Mexico, has defined the genre of “cumbia punk” and captivated thousands of fans around the world with their unique sound and live performances full of percussion and energy. Their second album, ‘Chimborazo’, shakes up their roots with tropical dances, psychedelic guitars, brass, and even some dub and hip-hop, and has led them to perform on the most important international stages, including La Mercè in Barcelona, where they surprised us last September. It is a rebellious and irreverent album, where they question everything they knew about cumbia until then. It was recorded over seven days in Colombia, the birthplace of this genre, giving way to a stage show that celebrates the legacy of cultures and connects corners and styles from around the world. In short, this Mexican brothers’ project celebrates family, home, marimbas, punk, and the party that is to be alive.
